Kim Kardashian turns 40; from simple girl to 'queen of social media'
Kim Kardashian, celebrates her 40th birthday today. The 'queen of social networks' today counts 190 million followers on Instagram, while continuing to be successful and get rich (Forbes estimated her fortune at $ 750 million last month) through her line of make up, clothing, but also be part of charitable campaigns and initiatives.
You may ask why it is so famous - but perhaps the most interesting question is how? How can an American woman 'sell' her image and lifestyle so skillfully as to become a global celebrity? How can someone who simply posts images of himself become one of the most influential figures in modern times?
All these questions "The Guardian" asks for answers in an article dedicated to the star of "Keeping Up with the Kardashian".
"For Kardashian West, it seems like criticism and publicity are probably just the same thing," the prestigious British woman wrote in her article.
It was 2012 when she joined Kanye West. In 2014, the couple appeared on the cover of Vogue Magazine. The cover attracted a lot of criticism, mostly from the fashion industry, questioning Kardashian West’s fashion credentials. Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour says she was challenged as an entrepreneur and wrote in the editorial of that issue of the magazine: "Part of the fun of editing Vogue is being able to showcase those who define culture in every certain moment ”.
Her relationship with the public and her followers can very well be called a story between love and hate. Not in vain, Ethan Zuckerman coined the term "pop-up ads" and coined the word "Kardashian" to denote a "unit of undeserved fame."
