Joe Biden is elected President of the United States


Joe Biden has been elected the 46th President of the United States after the counting of votes in Pennsylvania.

He received 20 electoral votes in this state, thus exceeding the threshold of 270 votes needed to be declared US president.

Most recently, he won in Nevada, bringing the total number of votes to 290.

According to projections, Democrat Joe Biden is already the president of the United States.

Biden reacted on Twitter, thanking the American citizens and telling them that "it is an honor that you have chosen me to lead the country".

"The work ahead of us will be difficult, but I promise you this: I will be the President of all Americans - whether you vote for me or not. "I will keep the trust you have given me."

Vice President Kamala Harris will be the first woman and person of color to take up this important post in running the country.

The 77-year-old will be the oldest president in the history of the United States.

He broke the previous record held by President Barack Obama, for the largest number of popular votes.
