Bob Dylan's catalog sells for $ 300 million
Universal Music Publishing Group (UMG) are the new 'owners' of the complete catalog of lyrics of American music legend Bob Dylan.
"Bringing to UMG the extensive and excellent catalog of Dylan songs, for a moment we have forever transformed the legacy of this company", said the executive director, Lucian Grainge, in a statement announcing the agreement. The deal includes classic hits of the 79-year-old.
According to the New York Times, the purchase has gone over $ 300 million.
During his 60-year career Dylan, has recorded over 600 songs and almost 40 albums in the studio.
