US 2020 - Biden: President of union, not partition

In his first address to the nation, Joe Biden thanked American voters who offered him a convincing victory and pledged to be a president who unites rather than divides.

The Democrat, who defeated Donald Trump at the end of a very tough campaign, urged Americans to no longer treat their opponents as enemies.

"The time has come to heal America," he told hundreds of supporters gathered at his Wilmington Basin in Delaware.

"I have campaigned to restore the spirit of America, to rebuild the backbone of this nation, the middle class, and to make America once again respected in the world," the president-elect said.

"I will work hard for those who did not vote for me, as well as for those who elected me," the newly elected president promised. / ATSH /
