Switzerland, the country with the most expensive living in Europe
Switzerland tops the list of countries with the most expensive living in Europe according to the Federal Statistical Office.
"A product basket that would cost an average of 100 euros ($ 121) in the EU costs the equivalent of 155 euros in Switzerland," the report said.
According to the agency, Swiss prices are 55% above the EU level. The report also shows that the price of housing is twice as high as in other EU countries, while tuition fees go up to three times higher.
Iceland and Norway also rank among the countries with the most expensive living where the same basket of 100 euro products costs 153 and 148 euros respectively.
